Massage:

Reiki & Energy Work

Reiki is an ancient and sacred healing art that creates a deeply meditative and healing experience for body, mind, and spirit. One receives Reiki fully clothed through a series of gentle, yet powerful hand placements. Tension, stress and pain melt away under the warm and nurturing touch of the therapist. Chakras and major systems of the body receive concentrated life force energy, enhancing the body's inherent power to heal. Mind and spirit reconnect and a state of equilibrium is established. Recommended for any state of health from headaches to heartaches.

Body Centered Therapy

Traditional counseling and therapy often overlook the physical body. More and more we are discovering mysterious as well as scientific links between our bodies, emotions, and mind. My studies and experiences of these connections support a journey to a more whole sense of self.

Swedish/Circulatory Massage

Swedish massage involves the use of hands, forearms or elbows to manipulate the superficial layers of the muscles to improve mental and physical health. Active or passive movement of the joints may also be part of the massage. The benefits of Swedish massage include increased blood circulation, mental and physical relaxation, decreased stress, muscle tension and improved range of motion. /p>

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish Massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense. It is also a more focused type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension or knots (also known as "adhesions.")

Tui Na

Tui Na is an Oriental Bodywork Therapy that has been used in China for 2,000 years. Tui Na uses the traditional Chinese medical theory of the flow of Qi through the meridians as its basic therapeutic orientation. Through the application of massage and manipulation techniques Tui Na seeks to establish a more harmonious flow of Qi through the system of channels and collaterals, allowing the body the naturally heal itself.

Cranial Sacral Therapy

CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system. By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems.
